Ain't fit to live here

As always I have a hard time getting back into blogging when it has been a while. I miss it but as usual time and mostly energy has been working against my blogness. Still is. We are leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow so there are things to be done. But I figured I better go on vacation without blog guilt. It will a real vacation. NO work. Hopefully I will get my dose of photo action and other than that we just plan to get as much hang time with Nick aka Electric Pick as possible. We are looking forward to see this place of his that stole him away from us. So no fresh tattoo shots from Hong Kong but hopefully the photoblog will boom when I get back.

Let's go back in time a bit. Let's catch up, shall we?

Friends have been visiting. Good times. Last it was Joey Ortega who was scheduled to get tattooed by me so we figured that he might as well just stay a bit a do a few tattoos. It was cool to have him and hang out a bit outside a convention.
I have been starting a bunch of cool new pieces but I rather wait until I have finished photos before they go up here. Many has made it to my Instagram though so if you are an Iphone user get Instagram and find me there. I'm Unclea.

Since the sun started to appear I have been listening to a lot of metal. I think I have mentioned that in the previous post. That has opened a big heavy wooden door of inspiration that has started to show on my drawing table. It looks like there will be 3 or 4 new tshirts coming in a hopefully near future. I still need to find a place that can print them.
The last post also showed one of my new Black Metal paintings. The response to it has been really awesome and since I had fun doing it I have decided to make a whole series of them. I have just got the biggest inspiration to the project in the mail but more about that later.

All this metal has also ment that Mr. Dettmer and myself once again will team up at the London convention and have decided to stick with the Metal theme. We will see what crazyness that will lead to. But before you guys start emailing me about appointments please read this following text:
I will make a set of flash sheets made specially for London convention. There will be a theme...yes...it is METAL. I am planning to show a sneak peak when we get closer to the convention and when I have actually made some. There will be NO APPOINTMENTS!!  ONLY WALK-INS!! First to booth, first served. No reservations if I can help it and there will be no customizing of the pieces since I will have everything ready including stencils. All pieces will be up for grabs one time. When they are tattooed they will no longer be for sale.
Don't worry, I will get back into details again later.

Ok I know there is so many things I wanted to share and stuff but while I am sitting here writing, printing tickets and stuff time flies so I better start thinking about what to bring to Hong Kong. Sorry!

Hope to be back soon.

Ohh..wait... Pictures...there is pictures of tattoos...

Ok quick one.... random order...

Jon got a tattoo of his mom as a young girl. I hope I can catch a good healed picture later...at a better angle...

Martin dropped by to get his chest shaved and a healed picture taken...well a picture taken of his healed tattoo.

Rikke B finally got her appointment so she could get a tribute to her grandma who called her mouse and made mice umbrellas out of her favorite flowers.

Sarah came back from England to add a Johnny Depp to the collection. This one from Sweeney Todd. Hopefully I will get a healed photo of that one as well later.

Ok that was it for this time. See you soon

London is the reason

This weekend we went to the London convention. Usually we have a great time there. This time...not so much. You see, a few days earlier I was foolish enough to stand outside in the cold and rainy weather painting the frames for the artshow mentioned in the previous post (SOOO stoked to be in that!!)...wearing short sleeves!! Great idea! Awesome! Well thought out plan chap! Well of course I caught a cold which not only gave me the worst plugs in my ears on the flight but also meant that I had to cancel working on the first day, Friday! Sucked BIG TIME! Fortunately that meant that I could walk around and talk to people and buy stuff. All the things that I never have time to do on the conventions. I hadn't booked any one in since I was just gonna do walk-ins from pre-drawn designs so no one had to get canceled. Saturday was better in the way that I actually did one tattoo. Felt better but wasn't in super shape so Amalie made sure that I didn't overworked myself as I usually would. That resulted in a few disappointed people but what can you do when your nose is running? Sunday I upped it and did two tattoos. That's right!!
To all of the people who I have met this weekend: I hope I didn't seem to far away in my head. I tried my best to be present the whole time but it was a bit hard once in a while. So I am sorry if I seamed a bit...off.

I am not really sure if this booking plan worked as I wanted it to so I don't know if I will do the same thing next year or try something else. I do know that I hate to disappoint people so I might think of something else. Sorry to all who had hoped to get tattooed! Maybe next time.

There wasn't much partying going on. Thursday night I was out and asleep before 10 at night. Never happens!! The rest of the weekend was pretty much, Dinner and off to bed. But it seamed like we weren't the only ones who were lacking energy this weekend so at least we didn't feel too guilty for not being the big party animals.
But it wasn't all bad. Good friends, nice customers and awesome people in general made it worth the trip and we also got a few awesome presents to bring home with us.

Adam Hays Gave me this bad boy!! AMAZING!!!! You rock dude!!

The picture is from his website.

Dan Smith gave us a print of the painting he did for a Sea Shepherd art show which is a good motivator for me to get started on doing one too. I have had planned to do a charity painting for Sea Shepherd for a looooong time now so this might help me to get started. Thanks Dan.

The best part is always to see those people we only see this one time a year. Even though it might only be for a few minutes it still means a lot. So to all our old friends, It was good to see you again, and to all our new friends, it is a pleasure to get to know you. See you all again next year.

So here they are: The 3 tattoos from this years London Convention!

The OHHHH so evil goat from hell! That's right EEEEEVIL!! Notice the upside down cross of BONES and the word WRATH written in dripping blood!! EVIL I TELL YOU...NOT CUTE!

Ok so we are back to the music video part! YAY!!! Right?? Well it's one live, one real video and one song with a fan made video but I wanna share these 3 songs.

These 3 should have been posted a while ago since we listened to that a lot...and I mean A LOT back a few weeks ago...but then again...we still do. So here is 3 of my shop favourites at the moment.

Foggy London Town

Just got back from this years London Convention. A great and busy weekend in good company of friends that we only get to see a few times a year on events like this. That is one of the best things about these conventions, getting to hang with our friends from all over the world. This year we hung with the Uk, Germany, Japan, USA and Sweden. Pretty international if you ask me. Good to see you all again!!

Me and my trusty convention buddy, Chriss Dettmer had prepared a whole bunch of new merch for this convention. It was a big deal for Chriss who the first conventions we did together didn't even have a banner, businesscards or portfolio... not this time!! He had EVERYTHING! Stickers, postcards, many different tshirts, flash, prints and portfolio. Too bad that people wasn't in a big shopping mode as they were the last couple of years. We still sold pretty good but there is still some of our limited prints and shirts and also my new antler lady print left. I will post a blog post about how to buy them and prices and stuff soon.

One thing that really really sucked about this weekend was that we were a lot of artists that was under the impression that the convention was closing late every night...well that was only the bar and the convention closed early like always. This mend that I had to cancel 2 appointments because I wouldn't have been able to finish in time. This really really sucked and I do not like to not be able to keep appointments like this. I hope I do get to do these 2 pieces sometime in Copenhagen and make it up for this.

So here is a the tattoos that I did...eccept for one that didn't turn out so well on the picture...an awesome ape it was...sad...but here is the rest.

Skate boards from HELL!!!

They are here!! They are finally here!!! The skate boards from hell...or from me and Chriss Dettmers desks. The boards that we have designed for Substance Abuse is ready to buy HERE. This is actually the design that we made for our split banner for the London convention this year...ok ok I will post my original design later in the post!

The decks from hell!! And you don't even have to pay with your soul!!

Well this will also be made as tshirts and prints. Both only available in pairs so you will get the full Uncle A/Dettmer effect!

The new and evil Uncle A logo that will be found on the back of the new tshirt.

If everything goes as planned we will have a few decks for sale at the London Convention, signed and everything. The prints and shirt should hopefully also make it there in time!! Fingers crossed. So save your money and come and spend them on our crap at the convention.

My painting and half of the banner for London.

To end this evil post of goodies...here is Youngs birthday rockin' Unicorn.

The chances of anything coming from Mars...

This years London Tattoo convention was as expected busy but fun! We shared the booth with our permanent Convention Buddy Chriss Dettmer...good times!! This yeah we also shared with one more great friend! Kent who works for Tattoo Artist Magazine. When him and Hunter Spanks, who were supposed to work in the TAM booth, got to the convention they found out that something had been mixed up so they didn't have a booth. Hunter got placed in a different booth with a nother tattooer and we decided that Kent just as well could have the magazines in our booth. More good times specially since we normally don't get to hang that much with people. This way we got some hang time while working! To add to the good times we also had Dan Sinnes across from us and Eckel next to him! Weee...

ok I really can't write right now...not fun to read and not that interesting either so here is just some pretty pictures! ...and yes the tattoos is made by me!
