A Few Of My Favorite Things...

Here I am again. Still not enough internet time to blog. But I feel that I better tease you guys a bit about the upcoming artshow at Dodo Beach Records on the 29th of November. I have had a few nice late night painting sessions with my iPod, some japanese beers and some japanese whiskey while painting for the show. Should have a bunch of new stuff to show so please come say hi. There should be a chance to buy a few of them too and maybe a shirt or two... do I have to mention that x-mas is coming up??

So before returning to editing photos for a future post and before getting back into painting, here is a tease of what I have been working on.

I will try to post some more soon and also some Japan photos!
Until then...

This post has been on its way since monday but it can be hard to find the time to blog when you have to work and hang out with awesome friends who are here to visit so I will have to make it as short as possible now... actually got to go to work right now..

Here is a few quick shots from the show. Time was against me so these are just some quick shots of the walls to give you guys an idea about what was there.
A lot of the paintings and photos is still up for sale so if you are interested in buying an original or a print of one of the photos send me an email.

All photos and paintings comes framed as you see them here. There is no prints of the paintings. So if you are interested send me a mail for size, availability and prizes. Please mention which one you are interested in and maybe a second option.

Operation black Lionheart

Last weekend was the opening of my first solo show ever. Faces of Black Metal. Lionheart Tattoo Gallery was nice enough to let me hang my paintings and photos on their walls for a while so please go check them out and make it worth their time... and also to make me happy! Shoot them an email first to make sure that they are open just in case.

There is about 26 paintings all inspired or based on Peter Beste's book "True Norwegian Black Metal". To mix it up a bit I also show some photos of Norways forest and the Fantoft church that got burned down.
A catalogue will be available on their site soon if you are interested in buying one of these evil bad boys! I have to say that is hard to judge the paintings from the catalogue since it is only parts of the paintings and without the fancy frame work done by my awesome wife, who worked her ass off to make the frames all nice and ready in time for the show.

I don't want to ruin the experience of going there to see the paintings in person so you will have to do with these two teaser pictures.

I want to say thanks to everyone who came to the show and apologize for being a social retard who don't know how to mingle.

I will end this post with some good Black Metal news. It looks like God Seed is back in evil business and working on a new album.

Faces Of Black Metal

You are hereby all invited to come to my gallery opening on the 24th of March at the Lionheart Gallery. The show will be of my paintings based on or inspired by, photos from Peter Beste and his book, "True Norwegian Black Metal".

I am really excited to show you all these paintings and I am happy that Peter agreed to let me use hi s photos and that Igor and Meike from Lionheart wants to show the product.

I will also be showing a few photos from my trip to Norway where my goal was to capture the roots of Black metal. For me the Norwegian nature plays a huge roll in why Norwegian, or scandinavian black metal sounds the way it does and seperates it self from the rest of the genre. Some photos are taken with my digital camera and some is taken analogue and developed by myself in our own darkroom.

I hope to see some of you there!

Sigh no more

The frustration about not having anything new to post here on my blog has now forced me to make a blog post...without pictures!! Ughrrr..! I hate blogging without pictures but I don't wanna post a pitty picture either. The hard life of a blogger.

It feels like forever since I have finished anything that I could get a good picture of. It seams like I have been starting a tons of things and finished a bunch of old pieces and some new ones where I just couldn't get a good picture because swelling or bleeding or the annoying contrast between old and new. Even though I have posted pictures on my twitter and Instagram it just doesn't feel the same as keeping you dear followers updated. So once again sorry for the absence but it has nothing to do with not wanting to blog.

I wanna use this post for something good anyway. UPDATES!!!

First up: Artshow. I did a flash painting for the Cut N Color for the Tattoo Flash show at The Pretty Pretty Collective in San Francisco. It will be for sale but since we want you people near by to go see it and the rest of the pieces in person there will be no pictures of it until after the opening. Go check it out. It should be a great show with some great artists. I am stoked to have been invited to join. Wish I could be there for the opening! Hopefully we will be able to drop by San Francisco on our holiday this summer and say hi to the nice people behind the last two shows that I have been a part of.
The show opens on March 12. Go here for more details.

Our Japan trip is getting closer! Can't wait to be back in my happyplace!!
Workdates should be kinda in place so if you wanna get something done in Japan then write me an email with idea, placement, size and what dates you are available for. Write me on Onkelallan@gmail.com
As always I will be working with the amazing Ink Rats in Koenji, Tokyo. You can also email Hata on inkrat00@yahoo.co.jp to book an appointment. We will be in Japan from the 30th of March till the 7th of May

I have also been invited to join the Tokyo Tattoo Convention organized by Tokyo Hardcore from the 29th of April to the 1st of May. Again should you be around and want to get a piece done then send me a mail with placement and Idea but remember that it is on a convention so there will be places that I won't be doing in order to not destroy my back.
More details about the show when I get them.

Bizarre magazine has just finished a thingy about me that will be in an upcoming issue. Looking forward to see the finished print with fancy pictures from the new shop.

Speaking of shop. Some might have seen previews of the new workroom on the Conspiracy blog. It looks amazing!! There is still many things that needs to hung on the walls but it is already looking really really epic. Flora have been changing our drawing room too. Looks better than ever but also needs a few last touches. Drop by to see for your self.

Speaking of Flora: Check out her new and improved website that she made!

I am currently trying to get into making a bunch of paintings for tshirts, prints, stickers and businesscards. Got a few prints that I wanna do but I'm trying to figure out what size and paper and so on. Hopefully soon there will be new goodies to spend your hard earned money on.

It is time for me to go renew my passport and then go finish another old piece that I won't be able to get a good picture of... Sigh...
Thursday and friday should be new one shots so hopefully there will be something new to look at soon.

Until then.

It was your heart on the line

I always love when my work days seem like a mix of work and hanging out with friends. Had one of those days yesterday with our buddy Jon who came to get a little love declaration done. Ms. Ama'r.
A good day with a lot of good music makes a good day at work. Yes sir.

Eckel got the debut album from Mumford And Sons from one of his customers. I had seen one video from them that I really liked but didn't really know what to expect from the rest. You see, I really REALLY hate Irish-kinda folk music and it doesn't get better if you mix it with other genres like punk. No I REALLY don't like Dropkick Murphys!! But these guys somehow managed to slip through the hate net. It didn't take many beats either to convince Jon that this was some serious awesome shit. That's why this video is dedicated to Jon and the proud ship Ms. Ama'r.

A last little update on the San Francisco art show. Here is some cool pictures from the opening night of the "Sream With Me" show at the 111 Minna Gallery. You will have to scroll down almost to the bottom to get to the event.
The show will run for a few more days and all the remaining paintings can actually be bought by contacting Angela by mail for prices and info. Write her on angelarachelleholmes@gmail.com.

upon the wings of Blaaaaack!!!

The opening of the Scream With Me show in San Francisco was a few days ago so I think it's time that I show what I did for it. All 3 paintings are A3 size (+ frame.) and are all for sale at the gallery so hurry up and go there if you wanna get away with one of these evil ladies.
If anyone have been to the show or go there please let me know how it was. I wish I could have been there myself because there is a whoooole bunch of good artist in that show. Pheeww!!
Hope you like the gals... but what's not to like? Sex, skulls and corpse paint. Am I right?

So here they are. Let me know what you think.

I Scream

You Scream

We Scream

And of course this post needs some music video as well. We can't stop the video madness just yet so here is a bit of...mmm... mood music.

One that I like:

...and one for the fancy makeup and funny faces...I mean evil faces...yes!

...a little tip: Try watching the last video without sound...not so scary any more.

SCREAM FOR ME SAN FRANCISCO

Hi ya'll!
I'm back. Back from London. Back to a more daily routine. Back to this blog.

Before I get into all the things that I have been up to I would like to start with this post. This has been one of the reasons why there has been a lack of posts here on the blog. I have been invited to join a group show in San Francisco called "Scream With Me". It is an honour to be among these people, a lot of whom I really admire. I don't even understand that I was asked to be a part of this but I am stoked about it and I just wish I could be there myself to see the show. If it wasn't for our recent trip to the London convention (see following post) and our upcoming trip to Japan, I would take the trip to SF to be there at the opening. So if you find your self in the area please go check it out and represent me.
I was asked for 3 paintings so I decided to do a series around "scream". "I scream", "You Scream" and "We Scream". A bit cheesy perhaps but I hope people will look more at the paintings than the title. I'm not gonna spoil it for the gallery or the people who wanna go there so here is just a small tease but I can say this much...If you like chicks and corpse paint and bit of erotic then you might like these 3 paintings.

They will be for sale at the gallery so if you wanna own one of my originals framed in a nice matt black frame then here is your chance.

Here is the flyer.

Well, I'm not gonna let you hanging there after a tease so here is a painting I finished a while ago. Just got it framed today and finally got to blog it too. It is already hanging on our Conspiracy walls so come check it out if you are in the hood.

I was gonna continue my music video thing and I will but I think this is fitting for the post. Enjoy and see you soon. More posts are coming in a bit.
